Mill Creek Offers Youth Scholarship Program

Mill Creek is developing a scholarship program for our youth. The program will select a student every 6 months to receive 20 complimentary lesson divided between the Mill Creek trainers, Cory, Mette, Robyn and Lindsay. The lessons will be 30 minute privates valued at $1200 for private horses and $1300 for school horses. This money could also be put toward the Competition Day Care fee if the student chooses to use it in such that way. In order to apply for this scholarship you must be under 21 as of January 1st. The first scholarship, given January 1 2012, will go to a student who has their own horse boarded at Mill Creek. The second scholarship, given June 1, 2012, will be given to a student under 21 who takes school horse lessons.

In order to receive this scholarship you must complete the application by December 15, 2011. The application will include some questions as well as a written essay. If selected for the scholarship you must use your stipend lessons within 6 months.

Mill Creek is offering this chance because we feel there are many young clients out there who are very dedicated and work extremely hard but may not be able to afford the frequent lessons. We would like to give our time to help educate these riders and hope they will gain a lot from this experience. In exchange for this opportunity we ask that the candidate volunteer 10 hours of their time to help Mario in the School. Some of those hours should be gained by teaching activities to the 1-4th levelers. We want to see that the candidate is enthusiastic, hard working, motivated and willing to help others. Mill Creek expects you to be an exemplary student. We will be taking note of how cleanly your horse and tack are. How you treat your peers and how helpful you are around the barn.

Applications will be available in the office December 5th.

We are very excited about this opportunity for you. Please take advantage!
